The Greats is a project by the Fine Acts nonprofit organisation. It's an online directory for high-quality stock images related to social problems. The content is generated by local artists during hackathons, also called sprints, organised by Fine Acts. The Greats' goal is to help NGOs around the globe be more visually appealing and engage more people with their causes. We were happy to help them and gladly took the challenge.
For The Greats, we had to create a visually stunning platform ready to scale effortlessly. It had to be able to accommodate huge pieces of content and work flawlessly as international traffic was expected to increase. We also had to fit that into a tight budget.
We started by working closely with their team to create user flows. We crafted the design based on the wireframes we prepared and chose to use AWS for file storage and hosting. As we knew how important design was to this project, we used a pixel-perfect approach to implement it.
